We were invited to Drake Judo’s competition because of our junior officials and referees!
This gave some of our younger players the opportunity to take part in their first competition and festival, along with 8 year old Megan who was attending her 9th competition!
Aaliyah, Dylan and Ivy took part in the U8 festival, which included due drill and opportunity to work with players from other clubs.
Jayden, Layton and Lily were competing in competition for the first time, all fought extremely well. Megan once again showed her experience! The boys and Megan won gold medals, Lily winning silver, only losing to Megan!
One of our junior coaches, Matthew, was there to sit matside and coach all the players. Daisy and Mercedes officiated and trained some of the Drake members. Eloise was refereeing, using the new rules which came in on 22 February.
It was a great day, extremely proud of all the players, who showed they do listening at training!
