British Judo volunteer of the year 2024 was our own Club Chair, Zoe Locke!
Zoe joins the Patchway hall of fame of volunteer award winners, along with the whole club winning club of the year 2024 (and 2012).
The clubs volunteer ethos is passed through out the club, Locke family we can currently boast three generations of volunteers, Zoe’s father in law, husband and children all volunteering at our club.
Zoe works tirelessly in the background in numerous ways, supported by a great team and ensuring the clubs ethos of being a family club to develop players to be the best they can be! Not just about medals, it’s also about personal development!
Our young volunteers are inspiring, all of the role modelling to younger players. Amelia was shortlisted to last three of the national young volunteer award, at just 12 she has written a judo grading system for our under 5 players, along with supporting our mini session and in particular Millie, who has been bling since birth; she even made her a braille birthday card!
