We ran U8 Festival in the morning, with seven clubs taking part.
Festival has a combination of games and “fights” to help prepare younger players to compete once they turn 8 years old. All the players did themselves proud. So lovely to see so many of our “minis” (ages 4-7) taking part; 20 of the total 34!
Competition had groups of red belts and mixed groups of yellow and orange belts. 16 clubs took part from far and wide, a total of 75 players; we would like to thank them all for supporting the event.
For some of our club players it was their first time competing!

Silvers for Abdul, Daniel, Chloe, Amelia and Daisy
Bronzes for Toby, James, Mila, ELianna, Maja F and Mercedes.
The majority of the officials were our Junior players, following the Kanji award programme, supervised by other officials from the club. They all did a sterling job, proving once again what excellent role models they are.
Two of the five referees were “home grown” too, with our experienced referee Eloise along with Oliver, who was under examination on the day, along with Tayler from Yate Star. They both passed.
